Can InkSpot refill my cartridge?
Yes, we refill all types of cartridges (well over 12,000 to date). You name it, we refill it. InkSpot refills black & color cartridges for printer, fax and copy machines. We refill all the major brands: HP, Lexmark, Canon, Epson, Brother, DELL. If your cartridge is not a good candidate for refill we have compatible and remanufactured ink cartridges. We also carry toner cartridges remanufactured in an SMTC compliant facility.

How long will it take for InkSpot to refill my cartridge?
It typically takes ten minutes to refill your cartridge. In many cases, InkSpot will have a cartridge available immediately. Just bring in your cartridge, if it is a good candidate for refill we will swap yours out with a prefilled cartridge. As for Toner cartridges, we stock the most common cartridges, for those we don't have we'll have them in three business days, we'll even ship it to your location at no charge.

Will the cartridge print the same as a new cartridge and last as long?
Yes, most people can't tell the difference between the print out of a new versus refilled cartridge. That's because all InkSpot cartridges are tested before they are packaged up for sale. Our refill techs receive weeks of training on how to use specialty equipment used to open, refill, and test the cartridge. We utilize high quality inks, specifically formulated for your make and model cartridge (no universal inks used). Our cartridges should last as long if not longer than a new cartridge. Many cartridges that come with new printers have average or low yield cartridges included. InkSpot fills your cartridge to capacity, often converting it from standard yield to high yield, providing you the best value.

Will using a refilled cartridge from InkSpot void the printer's warranty?
No. Federal law (The Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act) prohibits your printer's manufacturer from voiding the warranty because you use a refilled or remanufactured cartridge. The printer manufacturer advises against refilling because they make their money on the sale of printer cartridges, not on the printer.

What can I do to get the highest number of refills from my cartridge?
- Print at least once per week, it keeps the print nozzles from drying out.
- Do not run your cartridge bone dry. Once the low ink printer warning appears, bring them in to InkSpot on a timely basis.
- When removing the cartridge from the printer, avoid contacting the print head.
- If the cartridge is being brought in to InkSpot within days of running low on ink, place the cartridge in an envelope, avoiding contact with the print head.
- If it will be more than a couple days place a damp folded paper towel on the side of the cartridge, place the cartridge in a plastic zip lock bag, put a rubber band around the cartridge creating an air pocket around the print head, do not let the print head touch the plastic.
- For non print head cartridges (Epson, Canon, Brother), as per the owners manual, it is recommended to always keep a cartridge in the printer. If the printer does not have a cartridge in it overnight or for a couple of days, air will get in the print head of the printer and dry it out. This may lead to serious printing problems. InkSpot offers swaps for most of these style cartridges, to enable you to take the cartridge out of the printer, swap it at InkSpot, and get it back in the printer the same day.
